This region of Crete is ideal for hiking. There are many paths through the Cretan countryside, along the coast or in the gorges of Samaria, Imbros... which will allow you to discover sumptuous landscapes.
 
Some heavenly places are accessible by tracks or by boat like Balos in the North or Loutro in the South.
 
Visit the many villages on foot, by scooter or by car and discover the authenticity of Crete, its chapels and the warm welcome of its inhabitants.
 
On Saturday and Thursday mornings the typical markets of Chania take place where you can find fantastic seasonal fruits and vegetables. The covered market which is open every day except Sunday will allow you to buy food products as well as souvenirs.

The many shops and small tourist stalls will delight shopping enthusiasts.
 
In Almyrida, a small seaside resort very lively in season, you can enjoy the beach as well as water sports with the UCPA by renting catamarans or canoes.   There is also a diving center (OMEGA) as well as boat trips (Dream Aventure) and mountain bike rides.

A booling is also accessible inside the Almirida Beach hotel.

Tennis courts are available for hire from some hotels.

Kalyves (5 minutes from Almyrida) is the largest seaside villa in the region and has all amenities and 2 large sandy beaches. Its crystal clear waters and landscape make it an idyllic place for swimming.

 
To entertain you, you will find many taverns and atmospheric bars in all towns and villages. Many Cretan evenings are organized in season and offer traditional dances and music.
